pain was the favorite province of Ancient Rome, and not without reason. Beyond doubt, it is a land of rich contrasts, inhabited by a warm and friendly people, a beautiful country steeped in history, modern yet unspoiled, stretching from the rugged natural beauty of the Atlantic coast and the Pyrenees in the West and North to the warm sun-lit waters of the Mediterranean in the East and South.

The Mediterranean coast is endowed with a luxury sought after by the majority of the human race, warm sunshine from which those who live on the coast benefit all the year round. This same sunshine enables the farmers of the region to produce numerous excellent red and white wines, and a wide variety of health-giving foods including rice, vegetables of all kinds, fruits including citrus and the all important olive. Add a plentiful supply of fish to the diet, and it is not difficult to imagine why the Spanish of the Costa Blanca area have an enviable reputation for living to a ripe old age.

The Costa Blanca (The White Coast) sits in the centre of the Mediterranean coastline of Spain, a position which ensures that she is not subject to extreme variations in climate, being protected from excesses of heat and cold by high mountains to the west, and warm seas to the east. The coast offers numerous broad sandy beaches separated by even more numerous small sandy coves, some only accessible by sea. The coastal towns of the area provide all the desirable modern amenities and services one could hope for, including abundant excellent sports facilities. Tennis courts and Sailing Clubs abound, and golfing enthusiasts are well catered for, with courses designed by, amongst others, golfing heroes such as Sevvie Ballasteros and Jose Maria Olazabal. Local clubs exist covering a wide range of sports, artistic activities, and other pastimes. For those seeking less demanding pursuits, a short car journey of less than an hour will bring you to an isolated spot in the mountains, where peace and tranquility are the main ingredients. In Spain, one never ceases to be amazed by the enormous variety, and range of color of the wild flowers which abound.

Moraira  lies in a bay, on the South Eastern coast of Spain (latitude 38°40´N, longitude 0° 10´ E). It has the best climate of continental Europe and is ideal for year round visiting. There are cool sea breezes in summer and it is protected against the cold North winds in winter. It was an ancient enclave for fishermen, and is still a pretty village with a marina and a few fishermen. Visitors and residents from abroad have found the life that they have been seeking, and have been welcomed by the local population. The area remains exclusively for villa owners and individuals, who prefer the independent holiday. The whole of the centre of Moraira is modern with a magnificent array of shops to satisfy any demand. Many villa estates are established throughout the area with good facilities and easy road access. All the beaches display the blue flag of cleanliness. El Portet sandy beach, only minutes walking from the villa, is the most protected one, visited by most locals. You can sunbathe all year round. It has several restaurants with terraces. L'Ampolla sandy beach at the foot of the castle is the largest and busiest in the area. It has a play area, footbaths, watch tower, restaurants, and parking. The coast up to La Punta de l'Estrella (the Point of the Star) is an area of cliffs with wonderful viewing points to contemplate an unforgettable sight of the green-blue and transparent sea, and the landscape all around of a hundred and one colors .

Teulada  Teulada's landscape offers attractive views as it drops 185 meters to the sea. Terraced vineyards cover the whole area with a scattering of green pine trees. Teulada offers the possibility to partake in horse riding, squash, go-karts tennis and basketball and for those interested in antiques - furniture and paintings etc. the Sunday antique boot sale is a must.

Moraira and Teulada boast some eighty restaurants between them, supermarkets selling all the international products you can think of  and several wineries. There are various historic buildings and not to forget the local fiestas, water sports, golf, tennis, walking, cycling, climbing, parasailing, excursions and several Theme parks nearby.
